I am looking for an unfurnished apartment prefereably in the West End close to Denman Street. However, I am open to other options in the West End and Downtown in general as well as Kitsilano. My budget is $1500 or less. Above that i will begin to look at all inclusive furnished apartments.

My family has a lucrative business (we are one of the few properties in Jamaica that grows and sells some of Jamaica\'s world famous Blue Mountain Estate Coffee). I do work independently from that primarily as a writer, and producer and actor. I have two ongoing contracts that will continue once I move to Vancouver. One as editor for a bi monthly newspaper out here (Miami based) focused on the tourist industry, the other as a script writer for a project for the Sandals Group (hotel chain).
I was told that I need to establish credit from scratch in Canada, so I don\'t know how that would work. What I can do is provide references from my employers (I am freelance and contracted in), as well as references from past empoyers and character references both from here and from a native Vancouver-ite. I can also provide a letter from the bank here as an assurance of our coffee business and letters from my banks here and in the UK stating that I am an account holder.
I was granted Permanent Residency in canada this past year. For that, one needs to provide assurances of financial security. I can, along with my passport, provide copies of my PR card as proof that I have been vetted by the Canadian government in that regard.
I am trying to contact my past landlords from when I lived in Ottawa, Ontario in the 90\'s where I attended university, however I am still waiting to get their contact information although I can provide you with addresses and my time of occupancy there. Other than that, I have lived in family owned properties.
I am currently lined up for several interviews with production houses upon my arrival in Vancouver at the end of Januar. I am choosing a 9 to 5 produciton house as I would like some stability to my schedule as I get to know Vancouver. I have spent the last two years living in hotels and on different locations.
As a tenant, I am very quiet. I do not really entertain that much as I much prefer going out with people when I socialize. I am very neat and clean and a non smoker and I do not encourage others to smoke in my home. I like to cook and exercise so having good amenities in that regard would be lovely. I have no children or pets.
My current contract will be finalized and go into final edit in the second week in January. I am looking therefore, to get to Vancouver and take up occupancy February 1st, 2008.
If you can consider me a viable candidate, I look forward to hearing more.
